BOSTON (TND) — A Massachusetts man was indicted after he allegedly recruited a 16-year-old girl and took her to Rhode Island for prostitution, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors said 23-year-oldTramonte Jamier Queen, of Boston, was charged with one count of sex trafficking of a child and one count of transportation of minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
A news release noted that Queen allegedly recruited the teenager in January 2022. At one point, he allegedly told the girl to take nake photos of herself, as well as images of "posing provocatively."
Prosecutors said he then had her "earn money for him by engaging in commercial sex" and then arranged her to have sex with "buyers" in his mother's home in Dorchester and area hotels. He allegedly kept the money.
"Queen allegedly used threats and violence to maintain control over the victim," prosecutors said. "It is further alleged that Queen drove the victim to a hotel in Warwick, R.I., where he caused her to perform sex acts for his financial benefit. Hours after this trip to Rhode Island, police stopped Queen as he was returning to Boston with victim."
Prosecutors said Queen has been in state custody on related charges since February 2022. His arraignment was scheduled for November 30.
