Ian Garry flexes UNIQUE Timex watch made with bloody UFC octagon canvas

Ian Machado Garry kept his undefeated record intact at UFC 303. His latest and perhaps biggest win in this phase of his career run came against Michael ‘Venom’ Page. He outscored Michael Page via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). While his fight failed to garner much momentum, his post-fight lavishness did.

Garry went to war with Geoff Neal this past February at the UFC 298 PPV. With an unbeaten record and top-7 divisional ranking, he became Timex’s latest athlete ambassador. Backstage at UFC 303’s post-fight conference, ‘The Future’ was showcasing his unique timepiece. More so because it came from event-used canvas, blood-soaked from the Anaheim card.

UFC 303, contrarily, was to be a striking clinic of mammoth proportions. However, it didn’t live up to the expectations. ‘Venom’ had quite the transitional speed due to his point-karate training. The Irish welterweight took the action to the ground instead. He did win, but on the margins of any significant strike; the only few he did were capped off at the end from better control.

While it did not attract much fan support, Garry’s stock will continue to rise. One has to remember that even legends have had their bad days. Garry, modeling himself to be the next “Disruptor” like Irish compatriot Conor McGregor, isn’t just all-fight and all-blabber. It’s these little bits of extravaganza that make him the ‘Future’ of the company.

UFC X Timex

All work and no bling make for a dull boy. Come Timex to the rescue, the official timekeeper for UFC. Timex watches are famed to “take a licking and keep on ticking”. Consequently, Ian Machado Garry was the latest athlete to give into the grind after his UFC 298 win. He is still sporting it.

Garry (now 15-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) continues his rise up the ladder by outpointing Michael ‘Venom’ Page to a numbers game. In the aftermath, speaking to José Youngs (@JoseYoungs) for MMAFighting on SBN, Garry touted his one and only edition Timex Octagon watch—a limited-edition 50mm UFC Rumble with custom engraving.

Timex has had a long-standing with UFC. It sponsored top-bills of UFC 302: Makhachev vs Poirier. These included Islam Makhachev, Dustin Poirier, Paulo Costa, and Sean Strickland. The Garry-approved timepieces are of robust spec, and the iconic octagon-shaped dials. The 50mm UFC Rumble, 52mm Timex UFC Rush, and the zingy Timex UFC King are some. Prices range from $65 on the low end to $279 for premium ones.

Pre-UFC 303, Ian Garry partook in many promotional campaigns for those, his favorite being the custom-cased 45mm UFC King in particular. Unique shape, a crispy beveled touch, and triple-chronograph functionality. Right around the lane is what the ‘Future’ would wear. Luxury is in no short supply; when Garry enters and leaves the ring, he plans to make sure people know that.
