Parma will host Cagliari in the second leg of their Seri B semi-final playoff tie at Ennio Tardini on Saturday evening. The first leg at Sardegna Arena in the mid-week produced a five-goal thriller which ended 3-2 in favour of Cagliari. The Yellow and Blues raced to a 2-0 lead inside the opening half-hour mark courtesy of goals from Adrian Benedyczak and Simon Sohm, but the Sardians came out all guns blazing in the second half and scored three times through Zito Luvumbo’s brace either side of Gianluca Lapadula’s penalty kick.

Parma must now reverse the deficit on Saturday to play either Bari or Suditrol in the playoff final. The result ended Fabio Pecchia’s side’s eight-game unbeaten run in the second tier, recording six victories in the period. On a positive note, the Yellow and Blues have won each of their last four games at Tardini, even though conceding in all but one of those matches. Meanwhile, the Crusaders secured a 2-1 victory over Cagliari the last time Red-Blues visited Tardini thanks to second-half efforts from Franco Vazquez and Dennis Man.
Cagliari, on the other hand, have now won six successive games, scoring 15 goals and conceding just five in the period. The Sardians are on Cloud 9 after fighting back from two goals down to secure a crucial victory and take a slim advantage into the second leg. Although, the Islanders are unbeaten at home since early October, their away-form hasn’t been very great, having won just three of their last ten games on the road in Serie B. However, on a positive note, Red-Blues have won their last two away-matches, scoring six goals and conceding none in the process.
Parma probable starting lineup: Chichizola, Del Prato, Osorio, Cobbaut, Coulibaly, Estevez, Bernabe, Zanimacchia, Vazquez, Benedyczak, Sohm
Cagliari probable starting lineup: Radunovic, Zappa, Dossena, Altare, Azzi, Makoumbou, Deiola, Nandez, Mancosu, Luvumbo, Lapadula
